A: The starting bid price does not consider current scrap metal prices. The starting bid price is geared more towards waterworks/water utility companies interested in purchasing the tank to use. (2/18/20 10:52 AM)

A: The City acquired the tank through a transfer of property, and it has not been inspected or put into service by the City. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the interior condition of the tank. According to the manufacturers quote, the tank is coated with Thermal Bond 579. According to the plans, the tank is sealed with Sikaflex 1A. Number of panels = 60 (2/18/20 10:20 AM)

TAX EXEMPTION: Where taxes are applicable (see the Buyer's Certificate), Tax Exempt documents must be provided to GovDeals Bidder Services at tax@govdeals.com within 24 hours of the auctions close and before payment is made. All items must be removed within fourteen (14) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Buyer’s Certificate.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, disassembly, loading and transportation of the property. No Assistance will be provided. A daily storage fee of $250.00 may be charged for any item not removed within the 14 business days allowed and stated on the Buyer’s Certificate.

Person removing asset must provide copy of Buyers Certificate at time of removal. The Buyer’s Certificate serves as Proof-of-Purchase and must be present whenever there is activity at the removal site. ** If using a 3rd-Party agent; Buyer must provide agent with a faxed copy including their signed authorization to release their items. Buyer must notify Seller if using a Third-Party Agent.

Period of Performance: Upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and once demolition removal has started, the structure must be on the ground disassembled, and all major components removed from the site within seven (7) business days (for safety reasons); the entire job shall be completed within fourteen (14) business days of the Notice to Proceed. Work hours are weekdays from 8:00a – 5:00p.

Scope of Work: The Buyer shall provide all services and equipment necessary to disassemble and remove the existing water storage tank located on the property identified in the attached documents. The tank has been de- watered and the electrical components disconnected. No demolition permit is required.

1. The Buyer or Agent shall be required to attend a conference with the City’s Public Utilities Project Manager prior to Notice to Proceed. The purpose shall be to confirm materials and equipment to be used, areas of work, scheduling of work, and to discuss any other issues pertaining to successful completion of the contract. 2. In the disassembling and removal of the tank, the Buyer or Agent shall perform in a workmanlike manner and shall fully comply with all applicable federal, state and local regulations including, but not limited to, OSHA, the Chesapeake City Code and the current edition of the Uniform Statewide Building Code. 3. The Buyer or Agent shall provide a minimum of three (3) days’ notice to the adjacent property owners (via Registered Mail) of the intent to disassemble and remove the water tank. 4. The Buyer or Agent shall access the site using the 20' entrance on Emporia Avenue (see attached survey). The site should be used to store any equipment or material necessary to complete the job. 5. It is the Buyer’s or Agent’s responsibility to secure the site during work and non-work hours.
