Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: Do you have all log books, what is total time on engines, total time on props, when was props overhauled and when was engines overhauled and by whom. Would come to view. Thanks (2/21/20 1:30 PM)
A: All of the logbooks come with the aircraft and will be available to view during the showing of the aircraft. Time SMOH for both engines = 680. The last Annual was completed on April 14, 2016 by A&P Eugene Sullivan. Our agency took possession of the aircraft in February of 2017 and it has and is currently hangar kept by our agency. The previous owner also kept it in a hangar for the year he owned it. As for the owners before that, it is uncertain if they kept it a hangar or not. The aircraft has lived in Washington State, California, and Florida. On February 3, 2017 all of the systems were checked to 25,000 ft by Signature TechnicAir of Fresno. All of the ADs appear to be current up to April of 2016. The aircraft is not ADS-B compliant. It is unknown if the aircraft has had any hard landings or accidents. None appeared in the log books. The paint condition is fair with no obvious signs of corrosion. (2/25/20 7:03 PM)
Q: Please advise of total hours on left engine and right engine. Please advise of hours since left engine was last completely overhauled. Please advise of last hours since right engine was completely overhauled. Please advise of hours since either engine was top overhauled (if that has been done). Please advise last date of aircraft inspection, last date of airworthiness, and last date of left and right propeller overhauls. Please advise of any known defects, uncomplied airworthiness directives, or other requirements to make the aircraft legally airworthy. (2/22/20 12:11 AM)
A: Right Engine –Serial # 274043-R- installed on aircraft in November of 1994. Last entry in engine logbook is as follows for annual inspection on 14APR2016: TSMOH: 1434.2 AFTT:6984.2 Hobbs: 148.1 Left Engine – Serial # 248174-R – installed on aircraft in June of 1995. Last entry in engine logbook is as follows for annual inspection on 14APR2016: TSMOH: 16.5 AFTT: 6984.2 Hobbs: 148.1 (2/25/20 7:05 PM)
Q: What are the current airframe, engine, and propeller times? When was the last Annual inspection? (2/22/20 10:10 AM)
A: Right Propeller – Blade Serial #s: E78064, E64770, E78139. Hub Serial #ED1166 Initially installed on aircraft in October of 1989. In August of 2007, this propeller hub (ED1944) was replaced with propeller hub ED1166 after overhaul. Last entry in propeller logbook is as follows for annual inspection on 14APR2016: TSMOH: 241.0 AFTT: 6984.2 Hobbs: 148.1 Left Propeller – Blade Serial #s: E63807, E63853, 63801. Hub Serial # ED2353 Installed on aircraft in January of 1991. Propeller overhauled in August of 2007. Last entry in propeller logbook is as follows for annual inspection on 14APR2016: TSMOH: 241.0 AFTT: 6984.2 Hobbs: 148.1 (2/25/20 7:05 PM)
Q: How many hours are on the air frame? How many hours on the engins? Howmany on the props? (2/25/20 2:53 PM)
A: Please see answers to other questions. The site will only allow a certain amount of characters per reply so my reply to all of your questions was dispersed over three responses. I think the answers that have been provided to the other questions will answer yours. (2/25/20 7:15 PM)
Q: Does it have ADS-B? Thank you! (2/25/20 3:02 PM)
A: It is not ADS-B compliant (2/25/20 7:12 PM)
Q: I know I am asking a lot, so thank you for your help. • Is the aircraft privately or commercially owned? • Why is it being sold? • Has the aircraft always been based in Florida? • What is its storage history (hanger/ tarmac)? • Are all the logbooks, along with other maintenance history in order and available for examination before bidding? • Has there ever been airframe, landing gear, propeller or powerplant damage do to accidents and/or hard landings? • Are there any corrosion issues? • What are the hours on each engine and turbo? • What is the total hours on the airframe? • Are there any nonfunctional or need-of-repair items or systems on the aircraft? • Where was the last 110/hr. or annual inspection done? • Is the A&P/AI available to answer questions? Thanks again. (2/25/20 3:02 PM)
A: Please see answers to other questions. The site will only allow a certain amount of characters per reply so my reply to all of your questions was dispersed over three responses. I think the answers that have been provided to the other questions will answer yours. Our agency has possession of the aircraft. As far as why it is being sold, our agency only uses helicopters and currently has no need for a fixed wing aircraft. (2/25/20 7:18 PM)
Q: Was this plane owned and used by a drug dealer? (3/2/20 2:51 PM)
A: Yes this was received in forfeiture through the courts and any other questions can and will be answered during the inspection time frame - March 10 between 10-2 (3/5/20 2:55 PM)
Q: What is a court documents only title? (3/4/20 1:49 PM)
A: For now we have the Final Summary Judgment of Forfeiture Document / Certificate of Service Document (3/6/20 11:08 AM)
Q: Is the aircraft clear of any leans, mechanics, or lending? willl the winning buyer be given Clear Title and FAA Bill Of Sale ?(forrm 850-2)Does the aircraft have a current registration form (required in the aircraft at all times)? FAA Registration currently shows "pending". Selling As is does not mean you "own" it. Upu siezed it. If any of these items are NOT priovided,, will the "buyer" truely own it according to the FAA regs? Will you provide "clear title"? (3/4/20 10:14 PM)
A: There are no liens, mechanics, or lending that we know of. We have the final order of forfeiture. We can and we will provide a bill of sale. Update to this answer by R. McLaughlin on 3-17-2020: Per the FAA registration office in OK (405)954-3131, the winning bidder will be able to register the aircraft, through the FAA, with the court documents provided. The buyer can also take the court documents, and a bill of sale, to one of our local title companies where a title to the aircraft can be generated. (3/6/20 11:08 AM)
Q: Could you clarify the engine times since over haul, one statement reads "Right engine..14APR2016: TSMOH: 1434.2" then another states "SMOH for both engines = 680." Also has the sheriff department employees removed or reassembled anything on the aircraft? Did the selling agency, sheriff department, every fly this plane? What are the hanger fees going forward, can the new buyer keep the plane and pay the hanger fees during the time to bring the plane back into annual? (3/14/20 1:31 PM)
A: The 14APR2016 TSMOH was in the logbook at the time of overhaul and was written in by the A&P mechanic at the time of inspection. As it appears in the logs, the 680 SMOH is related to when the engines were switched to the ADLOG system. The Sheriff's Office did not dismantle the aircraft nor was anything removed (i.e., seats, engines, avionics, etc) and searched only the passenger compartment and the nose luggage compartment. The contraband was in plain view and did not require removal of any part of the aircraft. The aircraft is still in the same condition and configuration as when we intercepted it on a taxiway. The Sheriff's office did not fly the airplane as we only use helicopters and do not have a fixed wing multi engine rated pilot. The plane is currently being held in a county owned hangar which the airport manager advised can be rented for up to 6-8 months at $400 per month. The hangar fee must be paid in advance and time can be extended. (3/17/20 3:20 PM)
