Questions and AnswersQuestions and Answers
Q: hi I've got a few questions for you. I see the "check transmission" warning light is on in the dash, have you looked into this code to see whats going on there? you state the unit has new batteries, the battery display is showing 12.2 Volts with the unit off, that's pretty low, has this unit had charging issues with the electrical system? I'd expect the battery to be in the 13.5V range. Any mechanical issues with the engine and drive train? Any chassis rust? would you expect it to make a trip driving back to seattle ok If our agency bought it? any tank leaks or corrosion? you said in the add that the tank is showing some wear, can you explain exactly where. thanks for the information.. (10/25/18 12:58 AM)
A: Check Transmission: I took the picture without starting the engine. When engine is running there are no indicator lights on. Batteries where installed roughly 1 yr ago. Truck was off thats might be why voltage was slightly low. No issues that we know off on engine or drive train Normal wear and tear rust on chassis. Unit is still in active service and kept inside of firehouse I do not see why the truck would not make that trip. Have you ever considered shipping it? The aluminium tank is 20 yrs old. It has a few small bubbles on the rear of the tank. We have maintained anode rods in the tank over the years. Any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me. (10/25/18 10:13 AM)

Q: In the add you identify the 3500 gallon tank is Aluminum, I see in the question above its identified as stainless steel, which one is it? Is the tank NFPA Baffled (side to side & front to rear)? Thanks.. (10/25/18 11:10 AM)
A: My mistake on the metal of the tank. The tank is Aluminum. Once again the tank is 20 years old. I do not know if it is baffled front to rear but I do know that it is baffled side to side. (10/25/18 11:38 AM)

Q: Who built this truck? Also, can we please get undercarriage photos? (10/25/18 3:54 PM)
A: Allied tank company designed the tank. The chassis is a frieghtliner M2 chassis. This the the second chassis the tank has been on. Do you have an email I can send additional pictures to? (10/25/18 4:09 PM)

Q: Can we please get undercarriage photos posted? (10/25/18 4:14 PM)
A: We are working on posting additional pictures. (10/25/18 10:17 PM)

Q: have you noted the 280hp Mercedes engine to be significantly underpowered moving the 3500 gallons of water? I would imagine this unit is pretty slow on a grade. All of our new engine are powered by 500hp cummins engines. Does this truck have a transmission retarder or jake brake? to help slowing the load. please send any additional photos you have to afd911@hotmail.com (10/25/18 5:12 PM)
A: We have not had a problem with the engine. We do not have any major hills in our area but the truck handles climbing them well. The truck has a retarder 2 speed, high & low. (10/25/18 10:16 PM)

Q: Is the truck eqipped with a pto or have the ooption to add one? Thanks (11/1/18 6:15 AM)
A: We have been told by our mechanic that the truck is able to have a pto added if needed. (11/1/18 9:00 AM)

Q: width of the frame rails please (11/1/18 1:21 PM)
A: Are you asking for the distance between frame rails? The width of the frame rail is 3.5 inches wide. (11/1/18 3:52 PM)

Q: width between the frame rails? Thanks (11/1/18 3:54 PM)
A: Inside width between the rails is 27 inches. (11/1/18 4:13 PM)

Q: Could you please elaborate on the statement "it has a few small bubbles on the rear of the tank". am I to assume there is corrosion from the interior tank wall all the way out to almost the exteriors shell? If one of the bubbles were popped would water leak out of it from the tank? (11/10/18 2:24 PM)
A: I do not know if a leak would form if a bubble ruptured. The aluminum shows a few raised (bubbled) areas on the rear of tank. We have maintained and replaced anodized rods over the years. (11/10/18 4:08 PM)

Q: Who can I contact to look at the truck? (11/13/18 7:01 AM)
A: You can contact Charles Reinhart. His number is 856-305-0185. Email:. wrein12@gmail.com (11/13/18 7:59 AM)
